Foursomes Reader — reading anything aloud, on your iPhone.

Email support@foursomes.app. We aim to reply within a few business days. There is no account to look up, so it helps to say which iPhone and which iOS version you are on.

Common questions

The voices sound robotic. You are hearing Apple's built-in system voices. Open the Voices tab and download one of the neural voices — Heart is a good first choice. The first download is about 82 MB because it includes the speech model that every neural voice shares; each voice after that is around 522 KB.

A download failed or stalled. Every file is checked against a fingerprint built into the app, so a partial or corrupted download is discarded rather than used. Swipe to delete the voice and download it again.

Getting the space back. Voices tab, swipe left on any downloaded voice. The row tells you exactly how many megabytes that frees. Removing your last neural voice also removes the shared model.

It mispronounces a name. Settings → Pronunciation. Add the word and how it should sound, and it applies everywhere from then on.

A link would not import. Some pages are built so that the article text only appears after scripts run, and some sit behind a login. Reader does not bypass either. Open the page in Safari, copy the text, and use Paste text instead.

It stops when the screen locks. It should not — playback continues in the background and the lock screen controls it. If it stops, check that Reader is not restricted under Settings → General → Background App Refresh.

Your data

Reader has no account and no analytics. Everything you add stays on your device, and the speech is generated there too. The full details are in the privacy policy, which is also readable inside the app under Settings → Privacy.

To delete everything: Settings → Storage → Remove all content. Deleting the app removes the rest, including any downloaded voices.
